Neck Masses

A mass or growth in the neck can have many causes. Lymph nodes are normally present through the neck but can enlarge for a number of reasons. Glands and tumors may also appear as a neck mass.  Further testing such as an ultrasound, CT scan or needle biopsy may be recommended. Outpatient surgical procedures include excisional biopsy superficial neck mass, excisional biopsy deep neck mass, neck dissection, submandibular gland excision, and parotidectomy.
