Oral Cavity Lesions
Oral cavity lesions are abnormal growths or areas inside the mouth, such as on the tongue, gums, cheeks, or lips. These lesions may be benign, precancerous, or cancerous. Removal or biopsy is typically performed under local or brief anesthesia, depending on the size and location of the lesion. The procedure allows for diagnosis, symptom relief, and prevention of further complications.
After Surgery
Most patients experience minimal discomfort and can return to normal activities within 1 to 2 days. Mild soreness or swelling may occur and is usually managed with over-the-counter pain medication. Soft foods may be recommended temporarily. Follow-up is scheduled to review pathology results and ensure proper healing.
