Septorhinoplasty
Septorhinoplasty is a surgical procedure that combines correction of a deviated septum with reshaping of the external nose. This procedure is performed to improve breathing, nasal function, and overall nasal appearance. Surgery is completed under general anesthesia.
After Surgery
Patients typically experience swelling, congestion, bruising and mild discomfort for a week. Nasal splints, external casts and/or packing may be used temporarily. Most patients return to light activities within a week, with full recovery over several weeks depending on bruising. Final results on the external nose take months to be fully appreciated. Follow-up visits are important to monitor healing and breathing improvement.
