Tonsillectomy – Pediatric

Board-Certified ENT Specialists You Can Trust
Call Us Now

A pediatric tonsillectomy is performed with the use of general anesthesia. The surgery itself will last approximately 20-30 minutes, and patients may leave 2 ½ -3 hours after their arrival.

After Surgery

Recovery after tonsillectomy is different for each child. Some have little to no pain, others are very uncomfortable for 7 to 10 days.  Our staff is available by phone at any time to answer questions and concerns during the recovery period.

Out of town patients are cleared for travel the next day, and no follow-up appointment is necessary. For one full week after the procedure, patients should reduce their usual level of activity.
