She completed her residency training in otolaryngology at the New York Eye & Ear Infirmary, followed by a fellowship in thyroid and parathyroid surgery at the Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary. She served as a Clinical Instructor part-time in the Harvard Medical School Department of Otolaryngology for nearly a decade before moving back to Georgia.
