Tympanoplasty is a surgical procedure performed to address and repair issues with the tympanum (commonly referred to as the “ear drum”) such as perforations and recurrent infection. This is a minimally invasive outpatient procedure that takes around an hour to complete.
A tonsillectomy is a common surgical procedure in which the patient’s tonsils are removed, most often due to chronic infection or swelling. This is done under general anesthesia, and patients can typically leave after the procedure on the day of arrival.
A tonsillectomy with an adenoidectomy is a procedure most often performed on children that addresses sleep breathing disorders like sleep apnea and snoring, while also addressing swollen or continually infected tonsils. Based on symptoms, we will evaluate whether or not the adenoids require removal along with the tonsils.
Thyroid surgery, also referred to as a partial thyroidectomy or whole thyroidectomy, is an outpatient procedure done most often when the thyroid becomes infected. It can also be used to remove masses or tumors from the thyroid gland when conservative treatment has proven insufficient.
A stapedectomy is a procedure meant to improve hearing due to conductive hearing loss, a condition in which one (the stapes) of the three bones (known as ossicles) in the inner ear is not moving properly. During the surgery, the stapes is removed and replaced with an implant to improve hearing.
Endoscopic Sinus Surgery treats chronic and recurrent sinusitis (also known as sinus infection). The purpose of this procedure is to open and maintain clogged sinus cavities. It is an outpatient procedure that can be done in 30 to 60 minutes.
A tympanoplasty with mastoidectomy is a procedure done commonly for chronic ear problems such as perforated tympanum, cysts of the ear, or generalized long-standing hearing loss. This procedure takes approximately an hour and a half, and is done as an outpatient surgery.
A septoplasty and turbinate reduction surgery is a procedure designed to improve nasal function by increasing the size and diameter of the nasal airway, as well as correcting any septal deviation present. It also reduces the size of turbinates, which act as warmers, humidifiers, and filters.
Parathyroid surgery, also known as a parathyroidectomy, is a procedure that addresses issues like excessive hormone production in the parathyroid glands, four glands that regulate calcium metabolism. The surgery takes between 15 minutes and an hour to complete, depending on the number of glands that require our attention.
An ear tube surgery is a procedure often done on children to address recurrent infection or persistent fluid in the ear lasting three to six months. The purpose is to equalize the pressure between the air around the ear and the air behind the ear drum (tympanum) itself. The operation can be completed in as little as five minutes, and patients can leave shortly after the procedure is complete.
